AGIOS LAZAROS
The lovely church of Agios Lazaros was built in the 9th century, that is a very long time ago. It was built to commemorate Lazarus, do you remember who he was? In the Bible he was raised from the dead by Jesus, it is said that he became the Bishop (head of the church) of Larnaka. His bones are in a box inside the church, which is also very lavishly decorated with many icons of holy saints. It is a very peaceful place inside, cool and quiet, if you ever go to Cyprus friends you should make the journey to this place.
